Extractables studies for container closure systems are available from Mavens.
Mavens possesses state-of-the-art gear for generating and analysing extracts from packaging materials, as well as the necessary skills for understanding the extracted data.
Various expedited procedures, such as high temperature extraction, incubation, and sonication, will be used to create the extracts. The extraction medium will be identical to the finished product.
The extracted data will be analysed quantitatively and qualitatively for the following purposes:
Semi-volatiles: By Gas Chromatograph with FID and MS/MS detectors
Non-volatiles: By HPLC with UV detector/PDA detector (photodiode array) and LC-MS/MS
Inorganics: By ICP-MS and Ion Chromatograph (IC)
Volatiles: By Headspace GC with MS/MS and FID detectors
For the analyses, highly sensitive equipment will be used to achieve the lowest achievable LOQs.
Probable Leachables Simulation Studies:
Simulation research will be prepared and carried out based on the extractables data. The extractables analytical procedures will be adapted to suit the analysis of possible leachables in the presence of the real product. This test will be carried out at a high temperature and the product will be checked for possible leachables. For usage in the Leachables study, the developed analytical methods will be validated for analysis of each possible leachable.
